Thanks Fred.  I did decide to go with Paypal's virtual terminal.  Since I had an account with them it was fairly easy.

Hi,

Many people do use the Virtual Terminal option from Paypal which is convenient but there are many options and companies that offer services.  Some people have said they like the merchant processing available from Sams Club as well.  Check out the following website for details:

I'm not sure what to do about accepting credit cards.  confuse

I have a paypal account but I can only accept a credit card payment from someone that has an email address.  However, this won't work if I'm dealing with a client that 1) does not have an email address or 2) does not have internet access.  Paypal also has a virtual terminal option which would alow me to accept credit cards without an email address but the monthly fee is $30 and the percentage they charge per transaction starts at 3.1% + .30.  (I think the fee per transaction is high considering they are charging a monthly fee)

Finances are an issue with me so I'm looking for the most economical way to do this.  My other problem is applying for a merchant account -- I'm a little apprehensive about it.  I don't want to get locked into a contract or penalized with fees.

Any suggestions please?
