It basically tells you what to do step by step to start the business. It includes the training manual which is easy to follow, the letters and brochures as well along with a bunch of other items needed like forms, pricing sheet, graphics and all the page text for your website if you decide to set one up. It also has 5 of the Medalerts to get you going.
I have been very pleased with the quality of items included and feel that it is a fair price for what id provided.
what is exactly in the start up kit, dose it show you how to approach daycare's senior ct. etc.. does anyone question the price. how do you get the device back to your clients
The higher price is when offering an annual subscription for $129. In this case it includes the MEDAlert all loaded up to start and then we send out 4 reminders during the year asking for updates. Clients like it since they don't have to think about it, we provide a blank form and return mailer so they make any additions/changes, send it back and we do the rest.
I'm charging $65 if someone just wants it loaded with their information once. You can always try to upsell them later and don't want to lose the customer who wants to purchase but can't do the higher price.
Also, the $1800 is our low end now, many weeks are quite a bit higher on average.
Mr Griffin, you started this business and you were making a profit of $1800 then how about now and has anyone balked about the price, $129 seems high to me. how long dose it take to complet the forms
Welcome to our group. Many people are making this business work very well. The concept is simple and people quickly realize the benefits of having their critical medical information readily available.
You may have a great opportunity to use your radio talents to promote the benefits of people having a MEDAlert and can partner with your wife to do the visual aspects of entering the data into the form if you are not able to do so.
In addition, the MEDAlert startup kit does include a bonus right now which is our Home Inventory Business materials and software. Perhaps your wife can visit homes and perform inventory documentation on the side for some additional income.

I'm Alan from Tallahassee, Fla. I am a legally blind former radio broadcaster and spent more than 20 years doing local radio in this area. Currently I operate an Internet radio station, Big D Country, and am working towards establishing a new low power FM (LPFM) non profit station.
The Internet station is not able to generate enough income to provide a living. I am married, and my wide works part-time for a local elementary school. In the past year, she has had her hours cut and benefits slashed. We have found ourselves living in poverty, unable to make ends meet.
While I do not have a driver's license, my wife does, and we have been looking for some possible ways to work together from home. Obviously a few of you have been able to build a viable business out of MedAlert. We have tried a number of things that either just didn't pan out or were just scams. So we are both a little discouraged.
I have been encouraged by some of the things I've read here on the forums. This looks like it COULD work for me/us.
Sorry for taking a while to respond, just been enjoying the summer :) Here is some feedback regarding your questions:
1. The expenses are minimal, just the MEDalert devices for 9.95 each and some office supplies. You'll need brochures and business cards printed. I use docucopies.com which has very low prices.
2. I sent out the introductin letters from the kit to local businesses and followed up with a call or by stopping in with my brochures. I just asked to leave brochures in many places and started getting orders in a week.
3. I make a profit of approximately $1800 a week from all sources such as medical offices, local businesses and daycare centers
4. A great way to get your business going is to network with other business owners at your local chamber of commerce. This will help with long term growth. In the short term to start generating some profits I suggest focusing on the daycare centers and childcare centers. Parents love having a MedAlert for their kids and it helps the daycare centers keep organized.
Thinking about doing this business and I wanted to get some input from people who are actually doing this. I'm struggling financially and need to generate income ASAP. Can anyone tell me about their experiences such as:
What expenses are involved with this business?
How long was it before you made your first sale?
What are your avg sales per week and how many hours do you devote to your business?
What is the best way to market this business especially when funds are extremely tight or non-existent?
What's the best way to get this business started and quickly?
I would greatly appreciate any advice and would love to hear or read about your experiences with this business.
Hi I'm Tracy from California and is looking forward to a New Year and a new business venture. I've been unemployed for 2 years and have tried several business that had failed. I came across medalert about a year ago in a home business magazine and decided to take steps. I'm excited but yet to embarrass to mention to my family and friends about this new found opportunity. I'll wait until my business picks up. I'm going to work hard and follow the 5 weeks plan thats in the kit. This forum is great.
Hi there Tricia, I started out using the startup kit was extremely helpful and simple to follow.
When I started out I was focusing on daycare centers which are a very good source of business. Now I also get business from senior centers and by providing the MEDAlert for church fundraisers.
On average I get between 10 and 15 sales per week that are between $90 and $150 so you can see it can add up to be a comfortable income. I wouldn't expect to instantly get steady business but in a few months you should get over the hump and be doing well.
Thinking about doing this business, can you share your experience with me, like how you got started and how your getting sales and how many your getting weekly? Thanks so much!!
