It really depends on the company operating the ambulance service.  Since most corporate computer configurations will NOT launch any software simply by plugging in a device and also are set up with up to date virus software many are NOT experiencing this problem.

The MEDAlert simply has a Word doc and PDF (assuming you saved a copy as a PDF) so is very...very... safe to plug in and open up.  In fact most virus software programs do a quick scan automatically as you try to open up any file.

If your area has smaller ambulance departments then perhaps a letter and offer to do a demonstration would help.

Yes I have encountered the same problems. The EMT's are not allowed to plug anything into their computers. I think the reason being, the company is afraid that they could get a virus or some type of malware that could compromise their system. I feel that if you can show them that you use a computer that is not connected to the internet and is virus free you might be able to get an in with them. Also, do this with the hospital IT dept. and talk to the head of the emergency department letting them know about your business and how it will help them.

The hospitals that i have come in contact with will not plug this into there computer. Just came from hospital with my dad and gave it to emt. that picked him up in the ambulance and he gave it to the hospital instead of using his computer. has anyone found this to be true and if so how have you overcome it
