Welcome! The MEDAlert USB is very high quality and easy to use. The form is preloaded on the USB and very easy to work with. Sure, people can purchase a product to do on their own but the key with this business is the service aspect where you make it very easy for the customer by setting up the information on the USB as a service.
Its a really neat niche service business. Common pricing is about $65 for setting it up once for the customer and about $110 to $125 for an annual subscription. Offering an annual option is the best way to go since it keeps the persons info up to date and gives you repeat business. I send out an email and postcard 3 times per year asking if they have any updates, I also provide a small padded return envelope and blank form when I initially deliver the product so it is easy to return.
Once you buy the startup kit the MEDAlert usbs are only $9.95 each. I hope this helps.
I'm seriously considering jumping into this business but have a couple of questions:
1. I found some nice medical USB jewelry for about $15 on the Internet, which concerns me given the price MedAlert suggests for this product. How do you handle it when customers respond with, "I can find it cheaper on E-bay."?
2. For a venture that offers a comfortable income, there seem to be precious few distributors, and the information seems to be somewhat dated. Am I going overboard in my skepticism?
I have been burned before by home-based business ventures, and I'm very cautious about trying a new one. However, I am confident that there are legit opportunities out there, and I'd love to find one.
